From April to August 2025, we held our first state-wide engagement and heard from a range of stakeholders to help inform the approach to our work and advice to government.

What did we hear?
We received over 200 submissions, and held a range of roundtables and meetings, gathering valuable insights across a wide range of perspectives.

The Net Zero Commission’s first Engagement Summary Report provides an overview of what we heard from the engagement held during 2025.
Key themes from stakeholder feedback included:
- Experiences of climate change impacts
- Challenges in adapting to climate change or reducing emissions

- Suggested actions for NSW’s climate change approach

- shaping advice in upcoming reports, such as the 2025 Annual Progress Report
- refining our monitoring approach to track NSW’s progress
- identifying priority areas for deeper investigation
- targeting future engagement to foster ongoing conversations and deliver outputs that reflect stakeholder experiences across NSW
